Join the Organizing Committee for the Freeze for Food Fundraiser!
Are you passionate about supporting refugees? Open Doors for Refugees (ODFR) seeks a Volunteer Coordinator for our Freeze for Food 5K/10K, sponsored by the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Wisconsin-Madison. This event raises funds for programs to support our mission to welcome refugees in Madison.
As Volunteer Coordinator and planning team co-leader, you’ll lead and manage volunteer roles for race day. If you’re organized, eager to take initiative, and want to step into a leadership role, this is for you! You’ll work directly with Executive Director Jason Mack and a team of returned Peace Corps Volunteers.
Role Responsibilities:
• Oversee volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and communication.
• Manage race day volunteer duties, including sign-ups, communication, and race-day inventory.
• Support post-event follow-up to thank volunteers and debrief with the team.
Time Commitment:
• September-January: ~10 hours/month
• February: 20-24 hours
• All day on race day, with minimal follow-up after
