I am writing to share some personal news with you all. After much reflection and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to step down as Executive Director of Open Doors for Refugees. This decision comes as I need to prioritize my health and well-being at this moment.
Serving as your Executive Director has been one of the greatest honors of my professional life. Together, in this very short time, we have achieved significant improvements, such as the beginning of the first-ever strategic planning process and new collaborations with local partners that have made a lasting impact on the communities we serve.
I am deeply grateful for the support, dedication, and passion of our volunteers, Leadership Council members, and supporters. Your commitment to the ODFR mission has been inspiring and has made my time here incredibly rewarding.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to every one of you for your understanding, support, and encouragement during this time. It has been a privilege to work alongside you, and I am deeply grateful for the friendships and connections I have made.
As I transition out of my role, I am committed to ensuring a smooth handover and will work closely with the Leadership Council to support the organization during this period of change. I am confident that Open Doors for Refugees will continue to thrive and make a positive impact under new leadership.

We will miss Cecilia’s kindness, gentle spirit and ready smile. We are grateful for the commitment Cecilia
brought to her work with Open Doors and wish her the very best for the future.
